Zambia has a total of nineteen (19) National Parks covering a total land area of approximately 60,000 The different national parks were established by the Government to serve specific objectives and different resources utilisation.

A national park is a protected area owned by the state and a dedicted statue for the conservation of scenary and the natural and historic objects of national significance and also for the purposes of conserving wild animals and plants by means of leaving them unimpaired for the enjoyment of present and future generations. National park ecosystems are not heavily altered by humans and they are protected by national goverments.
